A six-module course built specifically for UK dental practices, aligned to ACoP L8, HTM 01-05, HTM 04-01, BS 8580-1, and CQC Regulation 15.
Every UK dental practice has a legal duty to control Legionella in its water systems, and the most common compliance failure at CQC inspection is a missing or out-of-date written waterline management scheme. This course gives the person responsible for water safety everything they need to understand the law, the biology, the systems, and the day-to-day controls written for the named individual who will sit in front of a CQC inspector and answer for the practice's water safety regime.

What you will learn

By the end of the course, learners will be able to identify the legislation that governs Legionella control in dentistry, distinguish between the duties of Duty Holder, Responsible Person, and Competent Person, explain why DUWLs are a credible transmission route, audit a Written Scheme of Control, interpret routine and baseline waterline test results, respond appropriately to a failed test or suspected case, and demonstrate compliance to a CQC inspector.
