Description

This is a self-taught course delivered through an interactive training site designed to inform and equip the dental team with the necessary knowledge and leadership traits required to take on the critical role of Decontamination Lead. This course supports the professional development of dental hygienists and nurses, helping them create a safe, compliant, and patient-focused environment. It covers essential decontamination protocols, equipment validation, infection control standards, and leadership responsibilities to ensure effective infection prevention across the practice.

This course acts as a professional reminder to promote team responsibility in cross-contamination control, understand HTM 01-05 compliance, enhance communication surrounding decontamination processes, and prepare the team for CQC and NHS inspections. It also addresses practical strategies to maintain high hygiene standards, manage documentation, identify lapses in protocol, and ensure adherence to best practices for patient and staff safety.

By completing this course, dental practices aim to strengthen internal systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve patient care by fostering a well-informed and efficient team.
